You will study the following Mandatory Units: Principles of Communication, Personal Development, Diversity Equality and Inclusion, Safeguarding and Protection, Duty of Care, The Role of the Care Worker, Person Centred Approaches, Health and Safety and How to Handle Information in Social Care Settings.

 

Entry requirements

Level 1 Health and Social Care (merit) or College assessment and an appropriate level of English. This course requires you to do a work placement where you will be regularly caring for, supervising, training, or being in sole charge of children or vulnerable adults.

 

What will I learn?

The vocational content gives you a thorough introduction to a variety of topics and is delivered via four workbooks focusing on the key themes of Working in Adult Social Care, Person Centred Approaches in Social Care Settings, Safeguarding and Duty of Care in Adult Social Care Settings, and Safe Working Practices in Health and Social Care Settings.

Assessment must be in accordance with the Skills for Care and Development QCF Assessment Principle. All assessment criteria must be met and mapped and the location of the evidence must be indicated in the achievement record.
